Duties & Powers

The Township Board of Review is responsible for reviewing property assessment records and hearing appeals related to property valuations to help ensure assessments are fair, accurate, and consistent with applicable laws. The Board provides property owners with an opportunity to address concerns regarding assessed values and classification.

Members serve designated terms and hold public meetings during scheduled review periods to hear appeals, examine assessment information, and make determinations regarding property valuations. Through careful review and impartial oversight, the Board of Review helps maintain fairness and transparency within the township’s property assessment process.

Dates, Times, & Locations

The Board of Review meets annually in March to hear appeals from residents concerning their taxes. The Board of Review also meets in July and December to review and correct any clerical errors or mutual mistakes of fact on assessments, as certified by the assessor.
